PROGRAM STATEMENT

The M.Ed. in Higher Education, Emphasis in College Student Affairs, is a 36-hour program designed to prepare students for professional careers in a broad range of higher education settings.

PROGRAM MISSION

The mission of the Master of Education in Higher Education is to prepare graduates for leadership roles and careers in higher education with particular emphasis in the area of student affairs in colleges and universities, especially faith-based institutions.

PROGRAM UNIQUENESS

This program is distinguished from other graduate programs in higher education by its emphasis on preparing graduates to deal with issues and concerns in higher education from a Christian perspective. Students will complete 300 hours of supervised experience as 'reflective practitioners.' Students will choose from many practicum opportunities available at ACU and other local colleges and universities. International learning opportunities are made available to graduate students on a regular basis in an effort to prepare future educators to engage in a global society. This program also operates from a cohort model and utilizes a portfolio technology to assist student with future job placement.
