PROGRAM STATEMENT
The programs in student affairs work and in higher education are designed to prepare professionals to confront administrative and leadership challenges, as well as for anticipated roles as contributors to scholarship. The programs are relatively new and are located on a campus that is young and rapidly approach research extensive standing. UNLV and the Department of Educational Leadership are committed to developing a student learning environment that is both excellent and student centered.

PROGRAM MISSION
The programs attract students from diversity backgrounds and with varied interests, creative and intelligent persons who willingly engage in active learning that focuses on theory and practice. The expectation is that program graduates will become campus leaders and faculty who will further their professions.

PROGRAM UNIQUENESS
UNLV offers newly revitalized programs that include a new PhD program. Several new faculty bring national prominence to the programs. The PhD program and reconfigured EdD allow students to design programs that fit their specific career goals.
