PROGRAM STATEMENT

The Department of Educational Administration and Policy at the University of Florida offers a Masters degree in Student Personnel in Higher Education. It is a two year program, emphasizing higher education history, student development theory, multicultural issues, ethical issues, and leadership. Students also learn from practicum and internship experiences in UF campus offices and at other colleges. Two full time faculty members are assigned to this graduate program, and several student affairs administrators at the University are also part of the teaching faculty. Approximately 20 students are admitted as a cohort group each fall for this two year program.

This Masters degree program emphasizes close coordination between the full time faculty and the professional student affairs staff on the UF campus and provides students with intensive learning experiences of a practical nature during their graduate program.
